Tuesday Read Strangers and Saints in Chapter 6 of The Story of the World. After the first reading, give a narration to a parent. After the narration, answer the questions in the History Notebook. Optional Color Student p18 Wednesday Read The Dutch in the New World in Chapter 6 of The Story of the World. After the first reading, give a narration to a parent. After the narration, answer the questions in the History Notebook. Do the Map Work: 1. William Bradford and the Separatists lived in England. Color England orange. 2. The Separatists left England for Holland. Using a pen or pencil, draw an arrow from England to Leiden, Holland. Draw an orange circle around the dot that represents Leiden. 3. The separatists began to forget their English customs in Holland. As a result they left and sailed to North America. Use a pen or pencil and draw an arrow from Leiden to the dot that represents Plymouth Plantation, in North America. Draw an orange circle around the dot that represents Plymouth Plantation. 4. European countries were establishing colonies in the New World. Color France red. Underline "New France" in red. 5. Holland was also establishing a colony in North America. Color Holland purple (but don't color over your orange circle around Leiden), and then underline "Manhattan Island" in purple. Thursday On Thursday Buttress Days, students will be completing various activities that add to the weekly reading. They will also continue the timeline. Add any activities this week about this chapter. Parent Responsibility: Make sure that the student has completed his/her homework.
