at Dominion Academy of Dayton You are invited to the 7th annual St. Francis Day Animal Blessing on October 4th at 2:15 pm. Bring your caged or leashed pet to be blessed! St. Francis of Assisi was a 12th century Catholic friar known for his love for animals. This yearly tradition on his feast day reaffirms Go's love for all of creation and how that gives each creature dignity.

Each student was given a "flyer" about the Dayton Metro Library summer reading. We, as a school, are participating. If we have enough students participate this year, we have the chance to get $1000 for the school. Students will also get prizes from the library. This is a great opportunity for us to encourage our children to read and to develop a love for reading. They can choose to read whatever they like. They track the time they read out loud, read silently, read to a younger child, are read to, or listen to a book on tape. The program runs from May 17 to July 29. After they complete the first 5 hours of reading, they take the slip to the library and get registered. They can go to any Dayton Metro Library. This is available for all children PreK through 12th grade. The following link has more information and a list of possible books: http://www.daytonmetrolibrary.org/summer Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need more information or if your child did not bring their "flyer" home. Thank you, Feb. 24 & March 3 IOWA Testing
